My New Running Buddy

Dear Monday, I’m ready for you today because my weekend was aces.

Watched the French Open, which just leaves me in serious anticipation for tomorrow. #teamdjok Novak would make history!! ESPN: Djokovic is bidding to become the first man since Rod Laver in 1969 to hold all four Grand Slam titles at once.

Had a fantastic run with Norak Sunday morning, even in the rain. And just an all around relaxing time.

I’m still doing the Runner’s World Running Streak, but I admit I’ve technically walked a few days because I needed an off day – and there’s nothing wrong with that. I’ve been running with a little secret weapon lately. The Soft Flask has been an absolute gem to run with, especially as it’s been heating up this spring. It’s just like it sounds, soft so you can fill it with water, or your favorite sports drink. GU makes some sweet powders that you can mix in – like their Roctane Ultra Endurance Packs. Behold Kool-Aid for athletes.

The bonus of the Soft Flask is that once you’ve squeezed out the contents, you’re not running with any extra weight or empty bottles. It also fits great in my pants/shorts zipper pocket, which is the only way I’d take it running with me.

If you are a college football fan, like myself, then I know where you’re going with this flask idea as well – a new Saturday stadium companion, mwhaha.

Definitely check out the Soft Flask if you’ve got your summer outdoor activities planned.

How was your weekend?!

  1. Clever use of the word aces!
That’s funny you posted about the flask today. I used a handheld bottle this weekend and felt like tossing is numerous times! I can’t run with the fanny pack water holders either. I’ll have to give this one a whirl!

    • I cannot stand handheld, when I see people during races running with them I’m absolutely baffled.

I have a belt too, and when you’re running some mileage in the heat, it can get heavy and uncomfortable.
