GoLite & You Can’t GoWrong

I have shared my admiration for GoLite with you all and it’s no secret that I enjoy being outfitted in their sweet gear.

Blue-tiful!

I tried their Wildwood Trail Sleeveless Run Top as I attempted to do my planned speedwork after work at Piedmont Park, since my fabulous gym is not accepting guests this week. Listen, it’s no BS when you run in Atlanta heat this time of year, you have to be careful. If I could run in a sports bra I would, but I’m too self conscious. When I slid on the Wildwood Trail top, it was like second skin. This shirt was ultra-lite and the back was sheer, hello ventilation! GoLite wasn’t joking when they said, “Featuring lightweight fabrics with extra fast dry times and a UPF of 50+, our sleeveless run top is for the true minimalist.” This is one of the few pieces of gear I have with UPF and it’s such a brilliant feature to have in clothing.

Not to mention easy access pockets! It’s like GoLite knew I would have to travel with my stupid cell phone. All of these features and the shirt weighs ounces. Another key plus-up I noticed, when I run and don’t have the ability to grab a towel to wipe the grossness off my face; I will wipe my brow and such with/on my shirt. I typically leave a fabulous face and sweat mark all over my gear. With this shirt, I noticed that within minutes my sweaty marks were gone. Magic? No, more like something they like to call “Minerale™.”
Our latest next-to skin fabric innovation utilizes Cocona Minerale™, which has a superior hand that’s matched only by its impressive quick-dry capabilities. The natural technology uses microporous particles derived from minerals that improve fabric comfort and performance. It is permanently embedded in the fibers, so it will not wash off or wear out. Experience high-quality performance that moves easy and works hard.

I definitely encourage y’all to check out their gear and their philosophy. GoLite gives me the warm fuzzies about a brand:

You want to get away from all the stuff—the blaring music, the gadgets, the never-ending load of work and the glut of more, more, more. So you go light….You value adventure over advertising. Memories over souvenirs. You don’t want to clog the planet with more stuff. You just want to have pure, simple, heart-pounding fun.

And don’t forget about the “GoLite Up Your Day Giveaway.” You can win something DAILY!

As for my speedwork – the heat was a nightmare and I didn’t properly hydrate myself during the day. I rate my performance a C.  A run I didn’t feel totally awesome about, but that’s OK! Can’t always have perfect sessions or you wouldn’t learn anything.

I have a big weekend ahead of me. Since I can’t go back to St. Thomas (booo) I’ll take going to my favorite U.S. city with some amazing people. Heading out to Chicago for the Healthy Living Summit. Squee!! Cannot wait to share details and updates from the event. If you have any questions/comments you’d like to learn more about in regards to health and wellness if you are unable to participate in this year’s summit, use me! Send your questions on over and we’ll get them answered.

I GoLite because I don’t want to be chased down. Why do you GoLite?

  1. I’m so sad I’m not going. But you know what I’m always missing when conferences like this or BlogHer happen? The recaps of what you learn. I mean, a lot of people talk about sponsor that were there but I’m so interested in the actual info you get during it. So, there’s my vote!

  2. So wish I could have gone to HLS. Hope you have a great time. Thanks for the GoLiite info by the way. I totally hear you on the heat. I do wear a sports bra b/c I just cannot stand to have loose tops sticking to me (feels suffocating). But after the incident last weekend it does make me rethink my attire.

  3. Thanks for the info! I’m in the market for some proper running gear. My current shorts and tanks are too thick. I need them to breathe!

    See ya manana!

  4. i can’t respond directly to your comment on my last post so i’m writing you here. just wanted to wish you luck on your journey to finding a balance! you can totally do it. if you ever have any questions, let me know 🙂

  5. Great post! I recently found GoLite as well and have enjoyed not only their great gear but their motto: Therefore I GoLite.

    Enjoy Chicago.

  6. Hello! This post couldn’t be written any better!
Reading through this post reminds me of my good old
room mate! He always kept chatting about this. I will forward this page
to him. Pretty sure he will have a good read. Thanks for sharing!

  7. I was curious if you ever thought of changing the layout of your blog?

Its very well written; I love what youve got to say.
But maybe you could a little more in the way
of content so people could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having one or 2 images.
Maybe you could space it out better?
